The smallest objects that the unaided human eye can see are about 0.1 mm long. That means that under the right conditions, you might be able to see an ameoba proteus, a human egg, and a paramecium without using magnification. A magnifying glass can help you to see them more clearly, but they will still look tiny.

House Passes Stupak Amendment to Remove Abortion Funding From Health Care
 

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The House approved an amendment Saturday night to the government-run health care reform bill that would strip abortion funding from it. An amendment from pro-life Rep. Bart Stupak received a 240 to 194 vote with one member voting present.'

Under HR 3962, the current health care bill funds abortions in two ways -- through the public option and through the affordability credits given to consumers to purchase health care.

11/06/09 PLANNED PARENTHOOD DIRECTOR WHO QUIT WAS PRESSURED TO MEET ABORTION GOALS
 

Bryan, TX (LifeNews.com) -- The former Texas-based Planned Parenthood director who recently quit after seeing an ultrasound video of an abortion says high Planned Parenthood officials wanted her center to meet quotas for the number of abortions done. Abby Johnson had been the director of the Planned Parenthood in Bryan/College Station.

She turned in her resignation on October 6 and watching an ultrasound of an abortion capped off years of pro-life advocates urging her to quit.

Now, Johnson tells WorldNetDaily that Planned Parenthood officials were pushing her to keep abortion numbers high and that she, in turn, pushed employees to meet abortion goals as well.

11/06/09 Abortion Practitioner Admits "Yes I Am" Killing Unborn Children During Abortions
 

Dallas, TX (LifeNews.com) -- The late-term abortion practitioner at the new abortion center in Dallas has admitted in a shocking interview that he kills unborn children during abortions. Curtis Boyd is one of the few abortion practitioners to admit what he is doing, but he has no qualms with his job.

In an interview with WFAA yesterday after news surfaced that he re-opened his late-term abortion center, Southwestern Women's Surgery Center, in the huge metro area last week after more than a year following the closure of the Aaron's abortion facility, he makes a startling admission.

"Am I killing?" Boyd said. "Yes, I am. I know that."

He told WFAA that he is a former Baptist ordained minister who is now a part of the pro-abortion Unitarian Universalist church who says he prays often about the abortions he does.

Pro-Life Doctors Upset by Harry Reid Pro-Abortion Health Care Quid Pro Quo

Pro-life doctors who are leaders of the Christian Medical Association are upset by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's reported offer to get physicians to drop their opposition to the pro-abortion health care bills in Congress in exchange for more money.

Reid has reportedly promised national medical groups that the Senate would take up legislation to halt scheduled Medicare cuts in doctor payments over the next 10 years in return for physicians' support for health care "reform" bills that include abortion funding.

Pro-Life Canadian Student Placed in Isolation for Joining Abortion Awareness Day

The story of a pro-life student in Canada is generating concerns for the pro-life group that sponsored the recent Pro-Life Silent Day of Solidarity. Jennifer Rankin arrived at Peninsula Shores ready to participate in the event but found herself placed in isolation.

Hundreds of thousands of pro-life advocates joined the silent day on Tuesday wearing red tape on their mouths or red armbands to protest the millions of abortions that take place in Canada and the United States.

Rankin joined them by wearing red tape and preparing to pass out a flier to anyone who asked her why she would remain silent throughout the school day.

AZ Pro-Life Groups/Legislators Seek to Protect Comprehensive Abortion Law


Two Arizona legislators together with pro-life physicians and organizations filed motions Tuesday through their attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund to support an Arizona abortion law. They want to intervene to protect the laws limiting abortions that Planned Parenthood wants to overturn.

Last week, Planned Parenthood filed a lawsuit seeking to overturn a slate of new pro-life laws that Gov. Jan Brewer signed in July.

9/30/09 Update: Abortion law's key points are blocked

In Maricopa County Superior Court, Judge Donald Daughton agreed with arguments by attorneys for Planned Parenthood that it is unconstitutional to require a woman who wants to terminate her pregnancy to make two separate trips to the clinic at least 24 hours apart. The judge said there is a possibility of "irreparable harm" to women seeking an abortion if the law were allowed to take effect.

5/26/09 Poll: Majority of Americans Believe Abortion Hurts Women Physically, Mentally

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- In a new national survey conducted by the Polling Company for the pro-life organization Americans United for Life, a majority of Americans say they know someone who has had an abortion. A majority of those surveyed also believe that abortion hurts women.

The Polling Company, a nationally known firm, asked the questions about abortion's effects during a May 17-18 survey with 800 adults across the country.
